Company Etudes, Artistic Director - Amy S. Lowe
A tradition at Performing Arts Center of Tallahassee is to offer one of the most comprehensive after school dance programs in the capital city and surrounding areas. Our intensive division is designed to inspire, motivate and challenge the serious dancer with a specialized faculty of industry professionals.
Students are unique in their maturity; dancers demonstrate a respect for their art, their teachers and each other. By promoting excellence, passion and risk taking, this unique program provides a solid foundation for any young person, whether their future includes a career as a dance artist or not. Our program is currently nourishing the souls of thirty young artists in the Tallahassee area.
Through auditions and evaluations, the faculty provides a personal education agenda for each young artist selected for Company Etudes.
With excellent technical training, dancers will study ballet, modern, jazz, tap, partnering, pointe, repertory and Pilates. Students also have the opportunity to participate in master classes and training sessions with leading guest artists from around the nation.
Having a duel purpose, our intensive division/Company Etudes offers aspiring dance artists an incredible scope of dance, theatre and performance training while providing audiences of all ages thought provoking works guaranteed to move and inspire the mind, body and soul. What began as a successful performance group, this program has now evolved into a true pre-professional company replacing the competition emphasis with “dance as art."
