Alissa Getz-Seim - Ballet, Variations, Pilates and Gyrokinesis
A Master Trainer for the Gyrotonic Expansion System and Gyrokinesis, she was trained classically as a ballerina from the age of five and went on to dance professionally with ballet companies in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Arizona. Alissa graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of Arizona in 1997. She is a Licentiate of the Cecchetti Council of America and a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Alissa’s approach to teaching dance is to provide a strong technical foundation to her students. She works to educate both students and adults as to how to dance ‘smart’ and prevent injury by using sound anatomical principles of technique, and most importantly to have fun and enjoy the joy of moving!
Emily Elisabeth Chapo - Ballet, Variations, Contemporary
Emily Elisabeth Chapo began her classical ballet training in Florida and Georgia. After studying at summer programs including American Ballet Theatre, Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, Ballet Magnificat and the Goh Ballet Academy, Emily went on to attend the Florida State University as a dance major in 2006 and graduated from the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver, Canada, on scholarship in 2009. While at the Goh, Emily performed numerous classical and contemporary works including The Nutcracker, Napoli, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Jardin Animée, Konservatoriet, and the world premier of Toru Shimazaki’s Rise as well as traditional Chinese dances across British Columbia and China. After working with Lamondance Contemporary Company in Vancouver, Emily relocated to New York City. There, she worked with renowned teachers and choreographers and taught classical ballet for a sister school of the Dance Theater of Harlem. Emily has also taught and performed extensively with AStar Studios, Vanleena Dance Academy, Precision Dance Academy, The Tallahassee Ballet, South Georgia Ballet and World Ballet Inc.
